MEGHALAYA SHOWCASES ORGANIC PINEAPPLES AND RURAL ENTERPRISE AT DELHI FESTIVAL

On 1st August, 2025 Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma along with Union Minister for Agriculture and Farmers' Welfare inaugurated the Meghalaya Pineapple Fest at Dilli Haat, INA, New Delhi.

He highlighted that Meghalaya’s pineapples have made a mark in global markets, known for their natural sweetness and organic cultivation. He emphasized that the festival is a tribute to the hard work of the state’s farmers, aiming to bring their produce into the spotlight and ensure they receive the recognition and returns they deserve.

The Chief Minister also noted that the event showcases a range of products from small industries and Self Help Groups, reflecting the efforts of rural communities in building a self-reliant Meghalaya. He invited the public to visit the Pineapple Fest and experience the unique flavours and craftsmanship of the state.

At the Pineapple Festival held in Delhi, Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma, alongside the Union Minister of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Shivraj Singh Chouhan, visited various stalls and sampled fresh pineapples and related products. The Union Minister praised the quality of the produce, lauding the efforts of the farmers for cultivating what he described as one of the finest varieties of pineapples globally.

While the festival primarily spotlighted pineapples from Meghalaya, a variety of other agricultural products were also exhibited and made available for sale during the event.
