National Integration Camp organized by the Regional Directorate of NSS, NE Region, Guwahati

Representing the State of Meghalaya, eleven NSS Volunteers of Khrawsing Christian College,
Mawngap under the leadership of NSS Programme Officer, Ms. Evadondor Sten, attended the National
Integration Camp organized by the Regional Directorate of National Service Scheme, North-Eastern
Region, Guwahati in Collaboration with Dera Natung Government College and State NSS Cell,
Government of Arunachal Pradesh Itanagar from 5th to 11th of January, 2024 where NSS volunteers
from 15 States participated. The seven-day National Integration Camp (NIC) is organized every year
in different parts of the country. The objective of National Integration Camp is to make NSS
Volunteers aware of the rich cultural diversity of India, history of diversified culture, national pride
through knowledge about India and integrate the nation through Social Service.

During the camp at Itanagar, the NSS volunteers from Meghalaya participated in the cultural
programme showcasing the Khasi traditional dance. Volunteers benefited from listening to various
important topics of academic sessions such as Career Guidance for youth, Youth and NSS, Youth and
Life Skills, National integration and role of youth and Moral education for youth.

The eleven NSS volunteers of Meghalaya also took part in Slogan Writing, Poster Making and
Extempore Speech. Apart from academic programmes, they also participated in the Awareness Rally
from Dera Natung Govt. College with the overarching theme “Viksit Yuva, Viksit Bharat”. This theme
resonates with the vision of developing empowered youth for a developed India.

The camp was inaugurated by Shri Mama Natung, Honorable Minister Youth Affairs and Sports,
Water Resources and Environment & Forest, Govt. of Arunachal Pradesh as Chief Guest and Shri
Tame Phassang Honorable Mayor Itanagar Municipal Corporation as Guest of Honour. The camp will
conclude on the 11th of January, 2024 where Er. Taba Tedir, Honorable Minister, Education, Cultural
Affairs and Indigenous Affairs, Govt. of Arunachal Pradesh shall be the Chief Guest and Shri Amjad
Tak, IAS Commissioner Education will grace the occasion as Guest of Honour.
