MEGHALAYA'S CULTURAL RICHNESS BLOSSOMS THROUGH LOCAL ARTIST'S MURAL

Meghalaya's Tourism Minister, Paul Lyngdoh, inaugurated a vibrant mural today at the East Khasi Hills Deputy Commissioner's office. Sponsored by the Indian Foundation and Asian Paints in collaboration with the Meghalaya Government, the artwork, themed "Root and Rhythm," is a testament to artist Mario Pathaw's creativity. Deputy Commissioner RM Kurbah, officials, and dignitaries attended the unveiling ceremony, marking a collaborative effort between the Indian Foundation, Asian Paints, and the Meghalaya government to preserve and promote the region's unique artistic heritage.

The mural, a dazzling fusion of color and culture was praised by Minister Paul Lyngdoh for showcasing local talent and enhancing the cultural vibrancy of the region. He highlighted its significance in depicting Meghalaya’s cultural diversity symbolizing the harmonious blend of tradition and contemporary expression. 
Lyndoh also emphasized the role of such initiatives in promoting immersive tourism urging visitors to explore not only the natural beauty but also the rich history embedded in every aspect of Meghalaya. With over 15 lakh visitors in
2023, the minister sees this as a testament to the state's appeal on the global stage.
