This pivotal discussion underscored the society's unwavering commitment to preserving and promoting the linguistic heritage of the Khasi people.

Amidst these deliberations, the gathering took a moment to honor luminaries in the fields of academia and literature. Among them was the venerable Silbi Passah, a senior member who received the prestigious Padmashree Award in recognition of her outstanding contributions. Additionally, three scholars—Dr. Banniewkor Lyngdoh Nongbri, Dorismelinci Byrsat, and Dr. Walter Thabah—were lauded for their completion of doctoral studies focusing on various aspects of Khasi literature.
