In an effort to curb influx, the Dorbar Shnong Mawri Lumheh by headman Pynshailang Mawri conducted an inspection on the 24th of November 2023 checking For The Possession of the Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council’s trading license among non-tribal and migrant workers in the area. Addressing the media Headman Pynshailang Mawri stated that the Dorbar Shnong opposes any non-tribal business owner or worker operating in the locality, however, he emphasized that if local residents require skilled labor they must inform the headman or the Dorbar Shnong authority and obtain a no objection certificate for the specified purpose.
