The Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council under the Trade Department conducted an operation checking trading licenses from Fire Brigade point to Beat House and from police point to Don Bosco Square in Laitumkhrah, Shillong led by the executive member overseeing Taxation Fantin J Lakadong and Land Department's representative Teibor Pathaw accompanied by Council officials and Enforcement Personnel the delegation addressed to non-tribal shop owners. These owners mentioned obtaining permission from the Meghalaya and Greater Shillong Progressive Hawkers and Street Vendors Association for their stalls during the operation shops lacking proper licenses and documentation were promptly closed by Enforcement Personnel on the same day.
