I-League is Set to Return Back in Shillong.

The reds have secured a return to the I-League for the 2023/24 season after finishing as runners up in
the Second Division I-League after 4 years absence.
They started off their 2023/24 I-League campaign with a 1-1 draw against Mohammedan SC of Kolkata
at the Naihati Bankimanjali Stadium in West Bengal on the 3rd of November, 2023.

Shillong Lajong FC will begin their home campaign with the “North-East Derby” against Neroca FC of
Manipur on the 9th of November, 2023 at 2pm at the SSA Stadium, Shillong.

This season the reds squad consists of some youth and experienced players returning back to the club
and in addition to that the four foreigners they have recruited with the Brazilian duo of centre back Daniel
Goncalves and midfielder Renan Paulino along with the two forwards Abdou Karim Samb of Senegal
and Takuto Miki of Japan.

For the first time in their history Shillong Lajong FC have registered a maximum number of 21 local
players in their squad for this season I-League campaign and some interesting names such as Hardy
Cliff Nongbri, Phrangki Buam, Kenstar Kharshong, Kynsailang Khongsit, Allen Camper Lyngdoh Nongbri,
Damaitphang Lyngdoh, Atlanson Kharmaw,Gladdy Nelcen Kharbuli, Iohborlang Lyngdoh Lyngkhoi,
Ronney Willson Kharbudon, Henryford Nongneng, Saveme Tariang, Figo Syndai, Batskhemlang
Thangkhiew, Sangti Janai Shianglong, Hamedamanbha Wahlang, Ronaldkydon Lyngdoh Nonglait,
Wadajied Kynsai Ryngkhlem, Everbrightson Sana Mylliempdah, Kynsaibor Lhuid and Shano Tariang are
representing their home club. Some of these players have come up from the youth academy of the club
itself and few of these names have already made their I-League debut against Mohammedan SC which
includes Ronney Willson Kharbudon, Damaitphang Lyngdoh, Sangti Janai Shianglong, Kynsaibor Lhuid
and Shano Tariang.

This season promises to be an exciting campaign for the club and for their fans to witness their beloved
club play with a total combine of eight home games to be played in the month of November and
December.
