The West Khasi Hills District Administration has strongly condemned the alleged disruption of the Personal Interview for contractual Staff Nurses at MCH Hospital, Nongstoin.

According to a public notice, 60 candidates shortlisted after the Written Examination held on September 21 were appearing for interviews on  29 and 30 September at the DC’s Conference Hall.

The administration alleged that on 29 September, Nongstoin MDC Dr Juristman Iawphniaw entered the interview venue without permission and addressed the interview panel and candidates in a raised voice, disrupting the proceedings.

Police subsequently escorted him to the Deputy Commissioner’s office, where he reportedly raised concerns over the recruitment process and issues circulating on social media.

The DC’s office stressed that no individual, irrespective of position, can interfere with officials conducting the recruitment process, and said the matter is being examined for appropriate action under law.

It also urged anyone with evidence of bribery or other malpractice to submit a written complaint to the competent authority.

The administration reiterated that selection will be strictly merit-based, transparent and free from monetary influence, as efforts continue to complete the recruitment for the operationalisation of MCH Hospital, Nongstoin.
