The Annual Entrepreneurship Summit EmergE 2023 concludes. The theme for this year,
"Envisioning India at 100: Empowering Innovation & Growth," brought together budding
entrepreneurs, industry experts, and thought leaders.
The event commenced with the Chief Guest, PVSLN Murty, delivering an inspiring inaugural
address. Following this, Shri. Atul Kumar Tiwari, Secretary of the Ministry of Skill
Development and Entrepreneurship, shared his perspectives on skill development and
entrepreneurship. This set the stage for a dynamic panel discussion featuring prominent
figures from the entrepreneurial world: Shri. Udaya Birje (Co-Founder, ThinkStreet
Technologies), Shri. Mandar Joshi (Angel Investor & Venture Capitalist), Shri. Roshan
Farhan (Founder, Gobillion), Shri. Hemanth Satyanarayana (Founder & CEO, Imaginate
XR), and Tanushree Hazarika (Founder, Tattva Creations and Atvi Infotainment) explored the
topic of "Channelizing Entrepreneurship." The discussion emphasized the crucial role of
support networks in aiding entrepreneurs in realizing their visions.
One of the standout features of EmergE’23 was the "Start-Up VC Connect," which provided
a valuable platform for six innovative startups from Northeastern India to connect with
potential investors. This event served as a bridge between innovation and investment,
paving the way for growth and opportunities in the region. EmergE’23 also featured a
compelling address by Shri. V Krishnan, Co-founder of JustDial and a renowned angel
investor who shared invaluable insights on the significance of learning from failures in the
entrepreneurial journey. The event came to a beautiful close with a captivating concert
performance by the lead artist, Debojeet Nag, whose melodious tunes left the audience
enthralled.
The 13th edition of EmergE was a testament to the entrepreneurial spirit of IIM Shillong and
the Northeastern states, and it promises to be a stepping stone for many budding ventures in
