SBI endeavoured for environment sustainability

Environment has become one of the Crucial point of concern to the large population of citizens, institutions & organisation through out the country and globally. The Sate Bank Of India(SBI) a leading public sector bank in a country is proud to announce once again for its dedicated efforts towards promoting environment sustainability.

As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility(CSR) initiatives SBI has taken a significant step by outsourcing its services towards the welfare of environment through tree plantation (afforestation) programs. The State Bank of India(SBI) Regional Business Office, Region - 1 outsource this project to the  ‘Bantei  ia ka Lawei Baphyrnai Multipurpose Co-operative Society Ltd. Mawkasain’. The program will be rolled out into different places through out the state as it marks the opening of this project today the 16/10/2023 at Mawsiatkhnam by the SBI officials in the presence AGM Region-1 Shri. Biswadepp Dutta & Shri. Komanly Khongwar & Shri. Khrawpyrkhat Kharbuli from SBI Region 1 attended the program along with the Members of the society. The SBI has announced today that the next phase of tree plantation will be held again on Wednesday by the SBI RBO-3 at Shangbangla Ri Bhoi Dist, Meghalaya. The same initiative will continue to other parts of the state like West Garo Hills District, Meghalaya.

The Society make a strong commitment to nurture and take care of all these saplings as the planting season comes to and end, so the Saplings need extra care for its growth.

Recognising the global challenges posed by deforestation and climate change the Bank and the society  appeal to every citizen of the state to be vigilant from the wildfire since it poses major thread towards the environment sustainability.
