In light of the recent escalation in school bus fees, parental apprehensions have surfaced. This fiscal adjustment adds to the financial challenges families face in managing educational expenses. The call for transparent communication from authorities reflects a desire for understanding of the reasons behind the fee adjustment and explore potential solutions for a fair and manageable system. In light of this problem, parents of students of Kendra Vidyalaya, Upper Shillong had met the Director of the Meghalaya Transport Corporation, K L Nongbri on 18 January, 2024 to apprise him of the increased rate of school bus fees from Rs 10,450 in 2023 to Rs. 13,750 in 2024.
