As part of the winter festivities in the city, Meghalaya's state government orchestrated the Shillong Literary Festival at Wards Lake from November 14 to 16, 2023. The Tourism Department's Minister, Paul Lyngdoh, graced the inaugural function as the Chief Guest. Distinguished attendees included Dr M Ampareen Lyngdoh, the Minister of Health, Dr Vijay Kumar D, the Commissioner and Secretary of the Tourism Department, state government officials, writers Navin Kishore and Janice Pariat, along with authors, scholars, and members of the literary society.
