MEGHALAYA CM KICKS OFF NCC'S NORTHEAST CAR RALLY, CELEBRATING 75 YEARS OF PATRIOTISM

On November 6th, 2023, in Shillong's Soso Tham Auditorium, Chief Minister of Meghalaya, Conrad K Sangma, inaugurated the NCC’s Northeastern Region Car Rally, commemorating the NCC's 75 years of dedication to shaping character and fostering patriotism among the youth.

The event was attended by notable figures including the Chairman of the Meghalaya State Planning Board Metbah Lyngdoh, the ADG NCC Directorate North Eastern region, Major General Gagandeep, the Executive Director Of Marketing Maruti Suzuki India Limited, Ram Suresh Akela, the Commissioner Secretary Government Of Meghalaya, the Director General of the Meghalaya Police Dr L. R. Bishnoi, the District Commissioner East Khasi Hills, R. M. Kurbah, and other officials from the armed forces and state Government. 

The special outreach program featuring a convoy of 12 Maruti Suzuki Jimmy Vehicles flagged off from Shillong covering all Northeastern states except Manipur, due to security concerns and concluding in Guwahati on NCC day.
This event is a collaborative endeavor involving 277 schools and 151 colleges from 44 districts across six states, seek to foster camaraderie,
inspire leadership and instill a deep sense of patriotism among the youth. It symbolizes unity, leadership and patriotism aligning with the core values
of the NCC.

Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma, commended the rally for its role in cultivating National unity and expressed gratitude to Maruti Suzuki for their sponsorship. He also highlighted government initiatives that provide financial support for community projects and offer a platform for local musicians to perform across the state. Sangma emphasized the potential of the youth as a vital resource for the nation provided they are guided appropriately.
