The Meghalaya Board of School Education (MBOSE) on Monday began a four-day workshop on “PARAKH Taxonomy, Holistic Progress Card (HPC) and Development of Question/Item Banks for the Integrated Test Management System (ITMS)” at its Regional Office.

Around 80 teachers and vocational trainers from across the state are participating in the programme organised under PARAKH-NCERT's “Equivalence of Boards” initiative.

Speaking at the inaugural session, Dr Esther J. E. Shongwan, Chief Academic Officer and PARAKH Cell Coordinator, MBOSE, said the PARAKH framework and Holistic Progress Card aim to move beyond rote learning by assessing critical thinking, creativity, life skills and socio-emotional development.

The workshop is also introducing educators to the Integrated Test Management System (ITMS), a digital platform developed by NCERT for competency-based assessments and customised question paper generation. MBOSE said the initiative is aimed at equipping teachers with modern assessment skills in line with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
