Shillong Lajong will be playing their first Super Cup match when they face Kerala Blasters FC on the
10th of January at 2 p.m. in the Kalinga Stadium, Odisha, for the Kalinga Super Cup 2024.
Lajong is placed alongside the ISL teams, which include Kerala Blasters FC, North-East United FC, and
Jamshedpur FC, in Group B of the Kalinga Super Cup.
This will be another huge opportunity for the team to
showcase their talent, as they will be gearing up to face teams in a higher division than them, and they
will be looking forward to locking horns against the ISL clubs.
Lajong are among the only four I-League clubs, including Sreenidi Deccan FC, Gokulam Kerala FC and
one of the playoff match winners between Rajasthan United FC and Inter Kashi, in addition to all the
twelve ISL clubs, which will make a 16-team tournament divided into four groups with four teams in
each group.
The Shillong Lajong FC squad, comprising a mix of skilled goalkeepers, defenders, midfielders, and forwards, is primed for the challenge that awaits them. With players like Rajat Paul Lyngdoh, Kynsaibor Lhuid, and Renan Paulino De Souza in their ranks, Lajong is poised to make a strong statement in the Kalinga Super Cup 2024.
