The Tourism Department of the Government of Meghalaya hosted the Hello Meghalaya Integrated Grant Disbursement Event on June 3, 2025, to honour and empower the state’s vibrant creative and film-making community. The event was graced by Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma and Tourism Minister Paul Lyngdoh, alongside key officials including Director of Tourism Cyril V D Diengdoh and Commissioner and Secretary of the Tourism Department Vijay Kumar D.
Acclaimed filmmakers Pradip Kurbah and Dominic Sangma were among those honoured during the event. Both directors also addressed the gathering, sharing insights on the evolving film-making landscape in Meghalaya and announcing the launch of the first-ever Film-making Exchange Program with FTI, Arunachal Pradesh.
As part of the Hello Meghalaya Grants, financial support ranging from ₹5 lakhs to ₹35 lakhs was extended to both established and emerging storytellers.
A significant highlight of the day was the unveiling of the Meghalaya Film Tourism Policy, aimed at positioning the state as a premier filming destination. Additionally, the Road Show initiative—a mobile LED display unit showcasing local films, promotional content, and awareness materials—was flagged off by the Chief Minister and is set to travel across various locations in the state.
The event marked a milestone in Meghalaya’s efforts to foster its cultural and creative industries through structured policy and direct support.
