Journalist from Uttar Pradesh visited different locations of Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra in East Khasi Hills

As part of the Media Tour under Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra a team of Journalists from Uttar Pradesh are touring Meghalaya.

Yesterday the team visited two sites where the programme of Viksit Bharat were organised under East Khasi Hills District - Mawmihthied and Swer Village. The journalists got an opportunity to interact with the officials of the state government, Headmen & beneficiaries of government welfare schemes.

The main objectives of this media tour are to provide the media an opportunity to see for themselves the development of various Government of India Schemes in Meghalaya and to enable coverage of important programmes and projects of various ministries and in this case to see how the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra IEC Vans giving out the messages of saturation of various schemes in Meghalaya.

Further, it is to provide an opportunity to journalists of Uttar Pradesh to understand the ground realities with respect to the impact of Central Government Schemes in Meghalaya. The Bureau conducts press tours to different States to enable the media to have a firsthand account of developmental activities going on in the country and help them in communicating the important policies of the government.

The Press Tour is being organised by Press Information Bureau, Shillong in collaboration with Press Information Bureau, Lucknow under the aegis of Ministry of Information & Broadcasting Govt of India.

The Team of Journalists also undertook visits to the stalls of government schemes which had been set up to spread awareness about the major government schemes in order to attain saturation and reach out to all beneficiaries who have till now not been able to attain the benefits of these schemes.

The team appreciated the efforts of the state government for organizing a successful Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra even in the interior villages. 

During their stay in Meghalaya till 11 January, 2023 they will also visit West Jaintia Hills and Ri Bhoi districts to understand the ground realities with respect to impact of Central Government Schemes in Meghalaya.
