ELECTION FOR SORDAR OF NONGJRI POSTPONED AMIDST CANDIDATE CONTROVERSY

The scheduled election for the Sordar of Nongjri on November 6, 2023, at the Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council office faced a halt today due to objections raised by opponents against two of the twelve candidates vying for the position in Elaka Nongjri.
The proceedings were put on hold as the returning officer of the KHADC stepped in to address the tumultuous situation, proposing a discussion with the executive members of the Ilaka department regarding the received complaints.
