ASHA WORKERS ESCALATE PROTEST AGAINST GOVERNMENT WITH A SIT-IN DEMONSTRATION PLANNED IN SHILLONG

The ASHA workers union, led by President Mirajune Myrsing, conveyed to the media today their intention to escalate protests due to the state government's apparent disregard for their demands. In response to the government's treatment, the President of the Meghalaya ASHA workers union stated that the union's Executive Committee decided to stage a sit-in demonstration at the Main Secretariat Building in Shillong on November 27, 2023, to publicly protest the government's unyielding stance on their unresolved issues regarding salary and other entitled benefits.
