The bust statue of Robert Garnet Lyngdoh was officially unveiled as a tribute to his lasting legacy in the fields of aesthetics and wellbeing. This initiative, led by Raphael Warjri, marked a significant moment in honoring the remarkable contributions of Mr. R.G. Lyngdoh to society. The statue was inaugurated by artists from the Riti Academy, members of the Meghalaya Tourism Development Forum, and the family of Mr. R.G. Lyngdoh, coming together in a meaningful and heartfelt ceremony.

The event was particularly special as it coincided with the 65th birth anniversary of Mr. Lyngdoh, making the occasion both a celebration of his life and a solemn tribute to his enduring impact. The prayer service, led by Raymus Wahlang, was attended by friends, family, and well-wishers who came to honor the legendary figure.

Raphael Warjri, the driving force behind the project, delivered a poignant speech during the ceremony, reflecting on the profound influence of Mr. Lyngdoh. Drawing inspiration from one of Mr. Lyngdoh’s innovative ventures, Matter of Taste, Warjri emphasized the importance of embracing creative impulses and the vision of eternal harmony that Mr. Lyngdoh stood for. Raphael Warjri spoke of how Mr. Lyngdoh’s vision of harmony in society and humanity had profoundly influenced his own creative journey. This influence led Warjri to forge a unique connection between his artistic expression and Lyngdoh’s ideals, creating a harmonious synergy between the two. To encapsulate this vision, Warjri introduced an abbreviation, MOT EH DAW, which stands for Monument of Strengthening the Aura of the Great Soul- Matter of Taste, Eternakl Harmony and Dedication to Aesthetic and Wellbeing. This phrase symbolizes the essence of the statue—an enduring tribute to the powerful legacy of R.G. Lyngdoh, whose contributions continue to inspire and uplift society. The event culminated with the poem “The Cap Befits You’ written and recited by Sonny L Khyriem.

In dedicating the bust statue to aesthetics and wellbeing, the event honored the magnificent soul of R.G. Lyngdoh, acknowledging the immense contributions he made not only to his community but also to the greater good of humanity. The statue now serves as a symbol of his unwavering commitment to societal progress and personal enrichment, standing as a testament to his lasting influence.
