STATE CABINET APPROVES SERIES OF KEY POLICY DECISIONS
The State Cabinet, in a meeting held on Wednesday, approved several key policy decisions.
It approved the service conditions of regularised ad hoc employees, including a one-time condonation to recognise promotions made as per rules, enabling eligible employees to receive pension and salary benefits based on their promoted posts.
The Cabinet also cleared the Meghalaya Non-Government School and College Employees Centralised Provident Fund Scheme, 2026, which will ensure structured and secure management of provident fund benefits for employees.
In a bid to boost investment, the Cabinet agreed to reduce VAT on methane gas used as CNG from 14.5 per cent to 5 per cent.
Additionally, several service rules were approved, including those for Allied Health Council, Science and Technology Cell, and Economics and Statistics services.
The Cabinet also approved the naming and renaming of various roads across the state.
