Ragging Incident at NEHU Tura Campus
A Naga student was allegedly ragged in the North-Eastern Hill University (NEHU), Tura Campus hostel in the early hours of October 8, 2023. The University administration was promptly informed of the incident, and immediate action was taken to address the situation. The safety and well-being of our students are of utmost importance and such incidents are completely unacceptable in the academic community, reported a statement from the authorities. The University has instituted a fact-finding committee to thoroughly investigate the incident headed by Prof. Lucy Zehol, Dean of the School of Human & Environmental Sciences. Prof. Zehol is a respected faculty member with extensive experience in handling sensitive matters and ensuring fair and unbiased investigations. The University authorities extend their support to the victim of this incident and assure him of providing all necessary assistance, including counseling and ensuring their safety and well-being.
