A coal-laden truck overturned along the Guwahati-Shillong road near the MeCOFED Godown at Mawlai Umjapung on Monday morning, triggering concern among commuters and residents in the area.

The incident came to light when commuters passing through the stretch spotted the overturned truck, which was reportedly carrying coal. The sighting prompted several members of the public to record videos of the incident and share them with the media.

The truck bears registration number AS01AC8401.

According to sources, police have initiated an investigation into the incident and are making efforts to ascertain the identity of the vehicle owner as well as establish the ownership and details of the coal being transported.
