Multitude Congregation at the Seng Kut Snem
The 124th Seng Kut Snem, an annual Khasi Festival commemorating the Seng Khasi movement and the dedicated efforts of the Seng Khasi to safeguard and promote indigenious Khasi Faith and culture took place at the waking ground in Jaiaw, Shillong on the 23rd of November 2023 the procession originating from Madan Iewrynghep concluded at the Weiking ground. Dignitaries, such as the chief executive member of the Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council, Pyniaid Sing Syiem, Syiem Hima Mylliem Ainam Manik Syiem, the Syiem Hima Khyrim Dr Balajied Sing Syiem, president of the Seng Khasi O Pyngrope, the assistant general secretary of the Seng Khasi Kmie, Paia Synrem and state government official. Hundreds of faithfuls of the Khasi indigenous faith participate in the annual cultural procession and congregation, which culminates with the prayers and chants by the priests and other religious heads.
