MHRC Report from Government on Electrocution Incident
The Meghalaya Human Right Commission (MHRC), has taken sou moto cognizance of the tragic death of Shri Nathaniel Sohtun , Class xi student of Jawahar Navodaya Vidhaya (JNV) , While preparing to take bath at the school Hostel .
The Commission has directed the principal of Jawahar Navodaya Vidhaya (JNV) and the chairman cum - Managing Director , Meghalaya Power Distribution Corporation Ltd. (MePDCL), to submit a Detailed Report into the incident on or before 16 August 2024.
There parent recieved a phone call from the school informing them that their son was unwell and had been shifted to Mawphlang Community Health Centre (CHC).
The family learned that Nathaniel had been electrocuted , upon arrival at the CHCthey were informed that their son had passad away .
