MEGHALAYA CM SAYS MDA STRENGTH REMAINS INTACT DESPITE UDP MLAs’ SWITCH

Reacting to the development, Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma said the decision was that of the respective MLAs and had no direct bearing on the NPP.
He maintained that the MDA's strength remained intact, as the legislators continued to be part of the coalition, and asserted that the government had a simple majority in the House and would continue to function normally.
Sangma, however, acknowledged that the move could raise concerns between the UDP and BJP, particularly over the MLAs' decision to switch parties.
