KSU PUSHES FOR HOME ADVANTAGE IN HOSPITAL HIRING

In Shillong today, the Khasi Students' Union met with the Director of NEIGRIHMS, Dr. Nalin Mehta, to submit a memorandum highlighting key concerns over recruitment practices at the institute.
The KSU is demanding that 80 percent of nursing positions be reserved for local candidates, and has also called for a recruitment examination center to be set up in Meghalaya.
Present at the meeting was Cabinet Minister and MDA 2.0 spokesperson Paul Lyngdoh, who attended on behalf of the state government.
KSU General Secretary Donald Thabah said the Union is also seeking clarity on whether current job vacancies fall under fresh or backlog categories as per the hospital’s reservation roster, stressing the need for transparency and fair representation of locals.
