On 21 May, 2025 Nongthymmai, MDC Winston Tony Lyngdoh conducted a surprise inspection today at a local eatery in Madanryting Block F.

The inspection was carried out in collaboration with the VPP Nongthymmai Circle, who accompanied the MDC during the visit.

The eatery, operated by Ashik Raza Khan, a non-local resident, was found to be in a highly unhygienic condition. The MDC, along with the local headman, expressed serious concern over the lack of cleanliness in the kitchen area.

He not only ordered the premises to be thoroughly cleaned but also instructed that food prepared earlier in the day must not be sold, as it was cooked in an unsanitary environment.

It was further discovered that the eatery’s trading license, valid for 30 years, had expired on 25 March, 2025. The MDC directed the owner to begin the renewal process immediately to avoid any future violations.

Additionally, it was found that the staff did not possess the required Labour Clearance Certificates. The MDC has instructed that appropriate measures be taken to obtain the necessary documentation to comply with labour laws.
